The six core functions that encompass the patient journey.
1. Personal Med Record – Stores the most pertinent patient information in a Cloud-based system that includes the most up-to-date medications, allergies, immunizations, insurance information, as well as other demographics. This tool can be used to improve the results of the other 5 core functions by personalizing the results to the individual user. For example, LEMUR will allow the patient to directly receive a prescription on their app and price check it in real-time based on their insurance (or lack of insurance) to all pharmacies, which allows the patients to make the best decision for them based on price and convenience. To reduce healthcare costs for everyone and increase healthcare access, patients need to be put back in the driver’s seat of their own healthcare.
2. Search – This ad-free tool will provide patients with care instructions on common health ailments and previously diagnosed conditions that focuses on information and treatment. Though this function is not meant to substitute as a diagnostic tool, it will help patients make better-informed decision making regarding their health and possible treatment without the annoyance of advertisement and medical bias that unfortunately plagues healthcare. There are hundreds of ways to currently get FREE healthcare advise, but they are nearly all paid promotions for a product or service. LEMUR’s patent-pending software just gives you medically backed information without ads, paid promotion, or the ability to sell you something.
3. FIND – A powerful tool that allows patients to search a database of registered providers and specialists and schedule appointments for treatment. The FIND function will not only allow patients to filter providers by insurance networks and location of their practice, but also by a patient rating system LEMUR has curtailed that both fairly assesses providers and encourages positive patient feedback. Lastly, with the growing use of telemedicine, LEMUR has incorporated in the FIND function telemedicine capabilities to connect patients with providers for quick and convenient access. The key to this service is that all providers will wish to participate. Currently, competitive services are “pay to play” or “paid to rank,” which means the list of providers visible are those who pay to be ranked higher on the search list while the others have problems filling appointments. LEMUR will not accept bribes to be ranked higher, and all providers will be viewable to patients who can choose the best provider available.
4. Symptom Checker – This LEMUR function aims to help diagnose a patient’s symptoms as accurately and unbiasedly as possible using detailed questionnaires and AI that utilizes their core medical data to provide the most probable cause of their ailment. Much like the Search tool that LEMUR provides, the Symptom Checker tool is not meant to substitute in-person assessments by providers but rather improve the accuracy of information patients seek when they try to diagnose themselves through various internet search tools. Another tool that exists on the market in different forms, LEMUR aims to be different by avoiding any paid advertising or biases that plague many of the current systems. We also personalize this to the individual via your core medical data and demographic information and, in the future, can also augment this with genetic information and past medical history.
5. Goals – An ongoing measure, LEMUR hopes to improve patient’s health long-term through preventative medicine. This tool focuses on tracking the progress of the health goals patients have created in collaboration with their health providers, including reminders that encourage healthy behavior. Additionally, LEMUR aims to provide a wealth of Public Health resources that are tailored to patients based upon their Personalized Medical Record. Lastly, LEMUR will look to partner with 3rd Party Services that utilize real-time diagnostic tools in smartphones and smartwatches to further enhance ongoing treatment of conditions, such as blood-glucose applications for diabetic patients.
6. Social Groups – LEMUR strongly believes in the power of community as an essential resource for healthier lifestyles and strives to provide an outlet for patients to connect with others as an invaluable resource and source of encouragement for their health journeys. This not only includes a platform to connect with immediate friends and family but a database of support groups that patients can connect with for specialized help as well. We believe a key component that many current social media systems are the mark on is focusing on small groups. Having family, friend, support groups that are small eliminate most of the negatives about current platforms that reward internet trolls via audience size and rewards for clicks … LEMUR also feels the small groups providers deeper connections and engagement.
